13'0" rods at 500 to 750 grains are ideal 4 season fishing tools with the ability to deliver broad range of line systems into an equally diverse range of fishing environments.
Many two handed Salmon and Steelhead anglers do consider this grain window and rod length to be the most universal tool for all mid-size rivers in a 4 season fishery.
Their length of 13'0" will allow the angler to effortlessly reach 90' plus distances if required, yet will still be allowed to fish close-in water of 40 to 50 feet. Many of our most productive river reaches will put us into hip deep wading only a few feet from the bank, this generally accompanied by burdensome bank side riparian and low hanging overhead branches. Again, the shorter 13'0' rod will allow long reach deliveries in this challenging casting environment.
Our 13'0" 450 to 700 grained rods are fully capable of defeating all game fish well into the 20 pound range, yet are light enough in hand that they will still be fun for fish in the 6 to 8 pound range.
