Both of these 16'0" Highlanders are hard working all purpose long distance delivery tools. These are rods that will meet the most challenging fishing conditions on any Salmon/Steelhead river in the world.
The Highlander Classic is a fine all-purpose long distance deliver tool. She has a smooth power transfer that will forgive the most dominant high hand stroke, yet will still allow the caster to feel full line load nicely into the cork.
Our new Hybrid design 16'0" rods have had quite noticeable changes, and the most noticeable will be the lightness in hand of these new blanks. This is especially true of the S Series Highlander.
The S Series will manage a slightly smaller grain window then will the Classic with mid to long belly lines, but will definitely make up for this with shooting heads. The ease of delivery, minimal expended energy required and extreme distances allowed with these rods are simply remarkable.
The 16'0 Highlander Classic and S series are world class rods for world class fish, suitable for defeating all game fish well into the 40 pound plus range.
