The MKS rods are designed to be all-purpose two handed rods, as equally efficient at delivering classic Spey line systems as well as delivering those lines within Scando/Skagit family of shooting head line systems.

All of the rods within the MKS series are extremely effective, and efficient shooting head rods, able to un-hinge the sustained anchor of the most extreme sink tips with an absolute minimum amount of work.

All of the MKS rods are fast or fast/medium fast recovery, with progressive actions.

The rather stiff tipped top ends, and slightly regressed butt tapers of the MKS rods create a very relaxed, yet extremely authoritive feel. Full line load is easily felt well in to the grip, and they are best delivered with a minimal effort, economic and compact casting stroke.

The ability to easily feel the full line load will prove to be a great asset to the short belly shooting head caster, as this will aide in timing anchor release, both from the dangle and the key. It has been said of the MKS rods: "They feel like they have a built-in computer chip to aide in triggering perfect timing at the shot."

The whole purpose of the MKS tapers are to deliver maximum grain with an absolute minimum amount of expended energy on the part of the caster... And their ability to do this has become legendary world wide.

They are no-nonsense, very authoritive casting tools. All with ample power to not only deliver a broad range of lines to both Summer and Winter Steelhead, but also to defeat all Salmon species as well... Equally at home as grease liners as they are at delivering and swinging 20 feet plus of T-14, over a wide variety of river systems, in equally diverse river conditions.

These are thoughtfully designed, extremely durable two-handers; utilizing helical ply lay-ups, and high modulus materials. Designed with equal emphasis for both casting and fishing.

In short: The MKS rods are superb all purpose fishing tools, at home on any river, for any game fish... Anywhere in the world.
