I think more then anything, Meiser knows how to match his rods and build them to meet the fishing conditions. I own three now, and the 4 pc. 11'4" ~ 8/9 wt. is the best Atlantic Salmon rod I've ever owned. It fishes and travels very well.

This past season I caught several Atlantics on the 11'4" 8/9 wt. ~ "The Ultimate Casting Machine" lined with an AirFlow short belly Delta Spey in 8/9 wt. One fish was 19 to 20 estimated pounds ~ 37" long. I can't wait to land a fish on my 10'6" 8/9 wt. switch rod this Spring using big flies and heavy tippets on the Rastigouche.
