"In more then 40 years of fly fishing I've lived through the transitions from bamboo to fiberglass to Graphite, and I have been lucky enough to own rods by some of the best builders in each of these materials: Bamboo built by Powell, and Winston...Fiberglass rods by Russ Peak, and graphite rods by Orvis, Loomis and more. Whether fishing for Trout in Montana, or Steelhead in Oregon, Bob Meiser's S2H106 switch rod is without question the finest fly rod I've ever used."
Mike Baughman is the author of "A River Seen Right" and recently, two photo studies and dialog about Oregon's North Umpqua River in the "Art of Angling Journal". Mike and his wife Hilde are from Southern Oregon, and spend much of their Spring and Fall seasons fly fishing the North Umpqua, and Summers in Montana.

"After spending year after year buying and selling rods trying to find the perfect tool for my passion, I discovered R.B.Meiser Fly Rods. They are the ultimate blend of craftsmanship and function. It is not uncommon to throw 1,000 cast days while pursuing the elusive Atlantic Salmon...These rods make the task effortless. I have spent the past two seasons with my SHX9089 4 piece fishing from Quebec to Labrador to New Brunswick and Iceland and will not be separated from my "Meiser." Chances are good they'll be prying it from my hand after death!"

"Not much to say other then that I can cast a Meiser rod better then any I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of fly rods! I think more then anything, Meiser knows how to match his rods and build them to meet the fishing conditions. I own three now, and the 4 pc. 11'4" ~ 8/9 wt. is the best Atlantic Salmon rod I've ever owned. It fishes and travels very well.
This past season I caught several Atlantics on the 11'4" 8/9 wt. ~ "The Ultimate Casting Machine" lined with an AirFlow short belly Delta Spey in 8/9 wt. One fish was 19 to 20 estimated pounds ~ 37" long. I can't wait to land a fish on my 10'6" 8/9 wt. switch rod this Spring using big flies and heavy tippets on the Rastigouche.
Meiser's rods not only cast great, but the workmanship is first rate to boot!
Gary Selig builds custom leaders and flies and "Gary's Custom Leaders" are known far and wide within the fly fishing community. Gary spends much of his time pursuing Atlantics in Eastern Canada. He resides in Mertztown, PA.

"Absolutely the most versatile, strongest, and pleasurable rods I have
ever experienced. A series of fly rods for all situations, from Western
rivers and lakes, to demanding salt water conditions. A paramount
development for the creative fly rodder...Most definitely world class!"

"In the words of Oscar Wilde: ' I have the simplest of tastes, I am

"Bob Meiser's 11'8" 6/7/8 is the perfect fly rod for the beginning
spey caster. It is a beautifully crafted rod that makes for an ideal
transition from the one handed rod into the world of spey casting. It's
weight and size make it ideal for Trout, and dry fly Steelheading on small
to medium size rivers. It certainly has made the transition to the longer,
heavier, big water spey rod much easier for me. Plus it is so pretty to look
at, I have to get it out to show all of my friends !"

"Time and again the guides were wagering on when my 8/9 was gonna blow
up....It didn't !
This is the most authoritative, reliable, and versatile fly rod I have
ever had the honor to fish."
Phillip Paden MD, Talent, Or. Comments on the S2H10689 while fishing
Kings and Summer Steelhead on the Dean.

"I primarily fly fish for Salmon, Trout and Steelhead. I am very passionate about my sport, and the equipment that I chose is selected to enhance the quality of time spent on the water as much as possible. This is especially true of my fly rods, and that is why I choose Meiser's rods.
First and foremost: I have total confidence in his rods. I own several, both single and two handed rods. Simply put, Bob builds a fly rod that in all respects will always fish very well.
I will often present well over a thousand casts on a full day of Steelheading. The Meiser's are easy casting, yet powerful, and after a full day on the river I never feel that I've been beat up by the rod. Their tips are extremely sensitive to the hook-up, but I never feel that I'm under gunned when playing large fish. In fact over the years, the durability and fish fighting capability of these rods have amazed both myself, and other anglers around me!
I own lots of fly rods, an accumulation of over 40 years of fly fishing. But in all honesty most of them have been retired, and are slated as gifts to family members and fishing friends. The Meiser's are now always with my gear and ready to go."

"A fly caster only has to look at one of your rods to see its beauty
and cast it to feel the power your painstaking engineering design has
produced. What is not obvious, and most appreciated by me, is your
willingness to share your expertise while helping me choose just the right
rod for my needs.
I was looking for a rod which would handle the diverse conditions and
opportunities of my home river, the Rogue River. As I am an inveterate dry
fly caster, I demand accuracy over distance. Your rod gives me both. Nice
not to have to choose ! My 9 foot 6 weight casts flies as small as tiny
midges to big October Caddis. But the true proof came on a drizzly February
day this year. In the morning I went to a favorite Steelhead slot. Fishing a
deep running October Caddis I hooked an released an 8 pound 29" Steelhead.
In the afternoon after sizing down my leader to a 6X tippet, I hooked and
released a 22" wild rainbow on a size 20 Blue Wing Olive. The rod had the
back bone to reach and land the Steelhead, and the tip section sensitivity
to place a small fly over a rising Trout and protect the tippet on the
strike.
I know that expert fishermen from all over the country and Canada are
singing the praises of your creations, but I thought you should know how
well your rods work for the dedicated amateur fisherman also. Thank you not
only for your rods, but for sharing your flyfishing knowledge."

"Meiser rods unique craftsmanship and speciality blanks, combine
performance and beauty, rarely seen on the market today. Light but powerful
blanks are the features that set the Meiser rod apart from the industry
standard. INCREDIBLE rod for hooking a Deschutes Steelhead, and really
feeling the fight!"
